Nicole became a deflowered vegetarian of 17 years after a run in with a venison dish at a Cornucopia winemaker dinner at Araxi in 2001. Her inner carnivore never looked back.

A food columnist out of necessity, she avoided dinner bills running the equivalent of one month’s rent by writing Whistler updates for CityFood Magazine and a weekly column called Table Scraps with Pique Newsmagazine.

The food lover is a farmer’s market junkie, cookbook collector and master of the swish and swallow. (She still needs to work on the spit.)

Her running narrative through the cookbook Savour Whistler introduces food lovers and coffee-table gazers to both Whistler and its culinary scene. One Nicole happily continues to dine her way through.

Savour Whistler: There is only one way to appreciate a meal in Whistler... Savour Whistler. Spend time in her mountains... Whether hucking a cliff in winter or hiking a wandering trail in summer, a venture into the mountains makes food taste like it did for the first time.
